"I thought it was quite touching," said Lori Poland, 18, of Santa Cruz. "It’s a good message, and a good way for people to see that Santa Cruz is not all wacky."

Poland said one of her favorite bands is Plus One, which headlined Sunday. She likened them to the Backstreet Boys "but better because they’re singing about God."

Corey Chrysler, 28, a Santa Cruz tattoo artist, said it was all good by him.

Chrysler said he likes all music, except country and "cheesy stuff."

"It’s skill," he said. "It doesn’t sound Christian.

"I’m down with God, for sure," he added, "but I like people to keep it real."
